Lots of oil spill payments has already been send out from the oil spill fund, but many more oil spill check’s are being delayed by the BP oil spill fund being overwhelmed by new oil spill claims.

In the last 2 weeks more than 100,000 new oil spill claims has been filed by residents in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Since October 4 when Mr. Feinberg head of the oil spill fund said that proximity to the oil spill is not necessary a factor if an oil spill claim will be approved for payment or not. This has open up the gates for almost anybody facing economic hardship right now to file a oil spill claim. The reason simply being that most of what goes on in Florida is somehow related to the 65 billion dollar tourist industry. If everybody related to the 65 billion dollar annual tourist industry files a claim with BP the oil spill fund will be 45 billion dollar short of paying the oil spill claims out. Its a good thing that Mr. Feinberg works for BP so he can put a stop to the out flow of money from the oil spill fund. Not really but weired never the less that he is employed by BP and handling the claims form victims of the oil spill in a government run fund ?

What to do if your oil spill check is delayed

So if you oil spill check is delayed and it has been more than 2 weeks since your oil spill claim was approved by the fund for payment, I would call the 800 number and get a status update on what is going on, also if you claim has not yet been approved I would get on the phone with the people at the oil spill fund to see your status of you oil spill claim. You don’t want to be the person without a chair when the music stops.

Contacting an oil spill attorney if you oil spill check has been delayed to make them put pressure on the oil spill fund to get your claim resolved. Remember if you do contact an attorney about your oil spill claim, a fee could be charged by the attorney and this needs to be calculated into your claim also.

Residents along the Gulf Coast are getting tried of waiting on their oil spill payment and hearing the same song and dance from the BP claims offices setup in the cities but with very little ability to do anything.

Many people have been waiting for a month or even longer for oil spill payment check from their BP claim, but still the money is not flowing. At the local offices people are answered by money are coming from the Oil spill fund, but its not coming.

Where is my oil spill payment ?

It looks like the money are in Washington and the people that needs the money are along the gulf coast, but have everybody just forgotten about the oil spill?

The answer is probably yes, once the media coverage was gone the money that BP in their big advertising campaign was gone to, leaving 100,000 BP claim victims behind, asking the same question every week: Where is my oil spill payment.

Oil Spill Payment are being delayed ?

Kenneth Feinberg the man in charge of the 20 billion dollar fund, promised business owners 3 weeks ago, payment on their claim in 48 hours after a claim, well that promise is now 3 weeks old and the business owners along the gulf coast are getting tried of the same old story about where they bp claim checks are.

The numbers that Kenneth Feinberg are showing after 3 weeks in the hot seat is 60,000 new oil spill claims, of those claims 16,000 has been paid, not a great season for Mr. Feinberg that claims he will do better. But tell that to the creditors of the business that has to now close down because relief money is not flowing from the oil spill fund to the people and companies that really need that money.

Oil Spill Payment Check

Mr Feinberg are promising a fast resolution to the problem just like he did 3 weeks ago, when he was appointed point man for the oil spill fund, well today just 3 short weeks after that appointment a desperate community of people are still waiting for their oil spill payment
